The Union Depot Lofts are located in historic and trendy Lowertown, only steps away from the Saint Paul Farmer’s market. It originally built in 1881 and the rebuilt from 1917 to 1923 after the original building was destroyed by a fire and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.
In 2005 the upper floors of the building were converted into 40, mostly two level, loft condominiums. Union Depot features a community rooftop party room and deck with BBQ grill and excellent views of the Mississippi River. Christos Greek and Mediterranean Restaurant is located inside the Union Depot. The units in the Union Depot include GE Profile stainless steel appliances, in unit washer and dryers, Gibson HVACs and air conditioning systems, Manhattan style woodwork, trim, and cupboards, exposed brick walls, 23 ft. windows with river views and Terrazzo flooring.
In addition, the building has very low association dues compared to other lofts in downtown Saint Paul. The Union Depot also features a workout facility and a party room with a pool table. There are on site security guards and computer “fob”entry systems.
The Union Depot is skyway connected and is steps away from the Saint Paul Farmer’s Market. Soon the Union Depot will be the starting point of the new Saint Paul Light Rail system and the new high speed train to Chicago. There are also 4 elevators, one which is a freight elevator for moving.
